Owl’s Nest Resort hosted the Clutch Rescue Triathlon on September 15, welcoming athletes and spectators for a challenging endurance event set against the scenic backdrop of the White Mountains. The race combined swimming, cycling, and trail running to create a one-of-a-kind adventure course that tested both endurance and determination.
Athletes began the event with a 1,000-yard swim, surrounded by mountain views and spectators cheering from the shoreline. After completing the swim portion, competitors transitioned to a demanding 14-mile bike ride, primarily uphill, heading toward Waterville Valley.
From there, athletes switched to trail running gear and tackled a 4.9-mile run up Mount Tecumseh. At the summit, competitors retrieved their symbolic “egg” before descending the mountain and returning to their bikes for the second leg of the cycling course.
The final stage brought athletes back to Owl’s Nest Resort for the finish, where participants completed the race with a final run and placed their retrieved egg into the “nest,” marking the official finish of the race. The egg and nest also served as the event’s unique finisher medal.
Awards were presented to the top three male and female finishers in each age group, along with recognition for the top relay teams. The event also brought together athletes competing both individually and as teams.
Following the race, competitors and spectators gathered to celebrate the day with food, drinks, and live music at Owl’s Nest Resort. The festive atmosphere made the event enjoyable not only for participants but also for the many spectators who came out to support the athletes.
The Clutch Rescue Triathlon provided a memorable day of endurance racing and community spirit, highlighting Owl’s Nest Resort as a unique destination for outdoor athletic events in New Hampshire.
